Friday @ Marlowe Patio

I know I’ve been slacking off (in terms of blogging) in the past few weeks. Is that the side-effect of summer? Just wanna sit outside and enjoy the sunshine instead of staying home/in office and facing the cold computer. After waves and waves of work, finally the down time hits, which is not bad at all. You gotta enjoy that while you can – although that’s probably not what the bosses would like to see.

This year, I can foresee myself getting tanned from participating in all the outdoor activities. The first tan so far, believe it or not, was from my Friday lunch @ Marlowe. Remember last time I had a meal there (a drink doesn’t count)… It was around Canada Day last year, the feeling was totally different – a night life scene.

It was a very nice day, so 7 of us came to Marlowe for lunch. It was around 1:30ish, and there weren’t a lot of people in this place. Most of the patrons chose to sit outside, just like what we did.

Same as last time, we were given this olive oil & baguette.

Here’s what we ordered:
Marlowe 3
Voodoo Chicken Sandwich – Hot pressed Cajun Chicken Sandwich with Bacon, Tomatoes and Melted Jalapeno Havarti Cheese

Marlowe 4
Pasta Feature – Fettuccine Pasta with Proscuitto, Roasted Vegetables and Sage, Herb Cream Sauce

Marlowe 5
Lamb Burger – 8oz. Lamb Burger Topped with Feta Cheese, Lettuce, Onions and Tomatoes

Marlowe 6
Blackened Salmon Salad – Cajun Spiced Blackened Salmon Filet served over Mixed Baby Greens, Mangoes, Cherry Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Toasted Almonds, and Strawberries with Rapsberry Vinaigrette

Marlowe 7
Sandwich Feature – Shredded Prime Rib of Beef with Horseradish, Bermuda Onions and Baby Greens served with French Fries

Marlowe 8
Fish & Chips – Stella Beer Battered Halibut served with Homecut Fries, Coleslaw and Basil Tartar Sauce

I think the quality of food is OK there. I ordered the salmon salad and the texture and taste were so-so. It wasn’t too dry but could be better. Overall, the price isn’t low though. The server was witty. After about an hour staying under the sun. I could feel the sunburn on my face and arms. AHHH. I think it’s still a good place for gatherings with friends, having a drink at night or… chilling at the patio. I still remember last time the pictures I took @ Marlowe was terrible because of the dim light. Hope this time will make it up (*I’m not writing for the restaurant, just for my own record.)

  1. Yeah, that is one thing I noticed about the portion, it could be cut again and feed 4 pple depending on appetite. No room for cake!
